About This Retreat

Trade Chocolate Eggs for Limestone

Easter in Istria means one thing for us: the Adriatic spring hits its sweet spot, 16–22°C, warm enough to shed winter layers but cool enough for genuinely great friction. Blooming landscapes, longer days, and none of the summer crowds.

This isn't one crag — it's an entire peninsula. Coastal routes at Rovinj with Adriatic views, the dramatic limestone fjord of Limski Kanal, the hidden canyon of Vela Draga tucked into Učka Nature Park, and the technical inland walls of Buzet. Every day brings different rock and a different challenge.

Two weeks of coaching from Jan Novotny, Klemen Bečan, and Sergi Medina — a genuinely rare concentration of high-level climbing experience for a single retreat — with rest days for medieval hilltop towns, local truffles and olive oil, and Pula's Roman amphitheater.

Who Should Show Up

Built for the Season Kickstart

01

The Winter-Rusty Climber

Months of plastic pulling in the gym have your body craving real rock. This is the perfect transition point to set the tone for your entire climbing season.

02

The Variety Seeker

Four genuinely different climbing areas in one trip — coastal, fjord, hidden canyon, technical inland — means your learning curve accelerates fast.

03

The Easter Escapee

You'd rather spend the holiday on limestone than hunting eggs. Traditional Istrian Easter celebrations are still there on rest days, just with better forearms.

What Past Climbers Say

Klemen adjusted my body position on one move and it completely changed how the whole route felt. That's the kind of coaching you don't get very often.

Four completely different climbing areas in two weeks kept me from getting bored or plateauing. By Buzet I felt like a genuinely different climber than I was at Rovinj.

Spent Easter Sunday exploring a medieval hilltop town instead of a family dinner table. Zero regrets, and the truffles more than made up for the missing chocolate.
