Bigger terrain, real systems, real adventure
Bigger terrain. Real systems, real safety, real adventure. Our trad and multi-pitch courses take sport climbers into the terrain ropes were built for — natural gear placement, anchor building, and multi-pitch rope systems, taught and mentored across four classic ranges: the Dolomites, Chamonix, Pembroke, Riglos — until you can lead it yourself, without a guide. No bolts to rely on — just you, a rack, and a partner you actually trust.

Who We Are
Guides who trust their own systems
Trad and multi-pitch climbing asks for a different kind of trust than sport climbing — there's no bolt line to follow, no fixed protection every two meters. Our trad and multi-pitch courses exist to build that trust properly: real gear placement, real anchor building, real rope systems, taught by IFMGA-certified mountain guides who climb this terrain year-round, not just for the season.
Every course moves at the pace of the climber, not the itinerary. Early days are spent on placement and anchor drills at low consequence; later days move onto full multi-pitch routes with the guide mentoring transitions, pacing, and decision-making from the next stance over — building toward the goal of every course: climbing this terrain independently, without a guide.
We cap every course at four climbers per guide. Small enough that everyone gets hands-on time building anchors and leading pitches, not just watching the guide do it.
What We Do
Three stages of bigger terrain
Trad and multi-pitch climbing is our whole category — a structured progression from gear placement to leading full multi-pitch days on your own, not a single guided route.
- 01
- Trad Fundamentals & Gear PlacementReading rock, placing cams and nuts, and building bomber anchors — drilled on low-consequence terrain until it's second nature.
- 02
- Multi-Pitch Rope SystemsEfficient transitions, rope management, and communication systems — the difference between a smooth multi-pitch day and an epic.
- 03
- Mentored Big Terrain DaysFull multi-pitch routes with the guide climbing alongside, not ahead — real terrain, real decisions, real mentorship.
Real Systems, Real Safety
The systems we teach before the terrain gets bigger
Every course is built around three non-negotiables — the same systems our guides rely on themselves, taught in a way that actually sticks under pressure, so you can run them yourself once we're not there.
- →
- Redundant Anchor BuildingEvery anchor taught with backup and redundancy as the default, not an afterthought — built to hold in conditions you didn't plan for.
- →
- Efficient TransitionsSwapping leads, managing the rack, and keeping the rope organized — the unglamorous skills that keep a long day from becoming a late one.
- →
- Decision-Making in Real TerrainWeather calls, retreat options, and pacing judgment — taught in the field, where the stakes are real but the guide is right beside you.

Dolomites: The Multi-Pitch Intensive
Our most-booked trad and multi-pitch course, and the range most of our guides call home. Early days build anchor and placement skills on the accessible towers of Cinque Torri, then move onto full multi-pitch classics with exposure, position, and Dolomite limestone that rewards good footwork. By the final day, most climbers are leading pitches themselves with the guide simply climbing alongside. Cortina as a base means a hut dinner and a cold beer are never far from the last rappel.

Frequently Asked
Before you book a trad or multi-pitch course
- Do I need trad experience to join?
No prior trad or multi-pitch experience is required for our fundamentals courses — you should be a confident, independent lead climber on sport routes. Our multi-pitch intensives assume some prior trad placement experience; each course page lists the exact requirement.
- Is gear included?
All technical gear — rack, ropes, and anchor-building equipment — is included and supplied by the guide. You'll need your own harness, helmet, and shoes; we can point you toward rental options at most course hubs.
- How is this different from a sport climbing holiday?
Sport climbing holidays use bolted routes with quickdraws at a single crag. Trad and multi-pitch courses use natural gear placement and hand-built anchors on longer routes, often multiple pitches high, in bigger and more remote terrain — and are built to teach you to run those systems yourself.
- What's the guide-to-climber ratio?
We cap every course at four climbers per guide, and often run two-per-guide on the more technical multi-pitch days, so everyone gets real time building anchors and leading pitches.
