Oltre Finale — literally "beyond Finale" — is the tour's best-kept secret. Tucked into the "Valley of the Rock" past the crowds of Finale Ligure proper, this is where 2,000+ routes of compact limestone sit quietly waiting for people willing to drive a little further.
Expect a bit of everything: technical crimps, perfect pockets, the occasional tufa, and faces ranging from delicate slabs to genuinely rude overhangs. Creative movement isn't optional here — it's the whole curriculum.
Seven days climbing sun-warmed limestone by day, cooling off in mountain streams and eating your way through Ligurian villages by night — where the espresso is strong and nobody's in a hurry.

The Venue
Beyond the well-trodden crags of Finale Ligure lies a series of pristine valleys tucked into the Ligurian hills — over 2,000 routes of compact limestone shaped by technical crimps, perfect pockets, and the odd unforgiving tufa.
You'll base yourself in authentic villages like Cisano sul Neva and Alto, working classics at crags like Cerisola, Erboristeria, and Granaio — then cool off in mountain streams before the region's real specialty: leisurely dinners that outlast the daylight.

Basic shared accommodation arranged with local climbing hosts — hostel or campsite bungalows with bunk beds, tucked into the Ligurian hills.
Getting There
Fly into Milan-Malpensa. Local transport is organised via shared rental cars once you land — no navigating Italian mountain roads solo.
Gear
All safety equipment provided — ropes, draws, helmets, slings. Bring your own shoes and harness if you have preferences; we've got spares if you don't.
Group Size
Minimum 3 climbers to run the trip. Small enough for real coaching, never a crowd-control exercise.

Common Questions
What level do I need to be?
You should be comfortable leading 6b indoors or 6a outdoors. Oltre Finale rewards creative movement and technical footwork — if you're strong but want to sharpen your all-round game, you'll fit right in.
Do I need my own gear?
Bring climbing shoes and a harness you trust. We provide all safety equipment — ropes, draws, helmets, slings — plus a full kit list once you book (down jacket, headlamp, and yes, a sleeping bag).
Is food included?
Food arrangements and any included meals are confirmed before departure.
What if fewer than 3 people book?
We need a minimum of 3 participants to run this leg. If numbers don't add up, we'll offer an equivalent (or better) alternative trip, or a full refund. No hard feelings.
Can I join more than one week of the tour?
Absolutely — that's the whole idea. Book the full 8-week Rock & Road Tour at the current full-tour price and follow the sun (and the sends) across eight destinations.
Where do I fly in and out of?
