About This Leg

Where the Journey Gets Tested

Three weeks of progression have led here: a serene valley carved by the Montsant River, where distinctive orange and gray conglomerate walls are riddled with thousands of pockets of every imaginable size and depth. Margalef is a genuinely different physical puzzle from anything earlier in the trip.

The climbing demands creative thinking, real finger strength, and the confidence to commit to powerful movement between holds that sometimes look more trustworthy than they feel. Work legendary sectors like Laboratori, Tenebres, and Espadelles — where the endurance built in Chulilla and the precision honed in Siurana finally synthesize into one final push.

Evenings unfold at the climber-owned Refugi, sharing tapas and stories with fellow athletes, in a tiny Catalonian village that closes the trip out exactly how it deserves.

Who Should Show Up

Built for the Trip's Last Send

01

The Full-Trip Finisher

You've done three legs, three completely different climbing styles, and now it's time for the pocket-pulling grand finale that ties it all together.

02

The Pocket Puller

You want to test genuine finger strength and creative movement on rock that looks nothing like anything else on the trip — or most places in Europe.

03

The Community Seeker

You'd rather end a month of climbing at a climber-owned Refugi, sharing tapas with international athletes, than fly home straight from a crag.

What Past Climbers Say

Ending a month of climbing across four completely different rock types at a climber-owned Refugi, with people I now consider family, was not on my bingo card. Perfect way to close it out.

Margalef's pockets humbled me in ways Sella, Chulilla, and Siurana never did. Different sport entirely, somehow, on the same trip.

Started the trip intimidated on 6a. Sent my first 7a on the second-to-last day in Margalef. Genuinely didn't think a month could do that.

FAQ

Common Questions

What level do I need to be?

Previous outdoor sport climbing experience is expected, with a minimum lead grade of indoor 6a or outdoor 5. Suitable for women and men aged 15 and up; physical intensity is medium to high.

Do I need my own gear?

Bring climbing shoes and a harness you trust. We provide belay devices, helmets, and slings, plus a full kit list once you book (down jacket, headlamp, sleeping bag, approach shoes).

Is food included?

Food arrangements and any included meals are confirmed before departure.

Do I need to have done the earlier weeks first?

No — every leg works as a standalone week. Margalef's conglomerate is its own distinct style, so you'll get full value here whether or not you've done the rest of the trip.

What if fewer than 3 people book?

We need a minimum of 3 participants to run this leg. If numbers don't add up, we'll offer an equivalent (or better) alternative, or a full refund. No hard feelings.

Where do I fly in and out of?

Barcelona International Airport, for both arrival and departure.
