Girls On Rock

Here at Rockbusters we always try to be different but we know that some climbing schools and climbers can be a bit macho. It’s not about who can climb highest or the fastest, it’s about challenging yourself and getting better. But because we know it’s sometimes a bit much, we’ve set up our girls only climbing trip. Of course, it might not be anything to do with all the macho rubbish, you might just fancy a girls trip away from all those smelly boys. And who can blame you? (Sorry lads but you’re all men enough to take it, right?)

The Coaching

What you’ll learn:

What equipment you need for climbing and how to choose it properly so you’re always safe on a climb

How to belay, set up top-rope, lead and other technical aspects to build your knowledge base

Using a guide book so you can better know a climbing area

Climbing calls and communication so you won’t sound like a rookie

Basic movement skills for improved efficiency and better climbing

Cleaning anchors and basic understanding of outdoor risks so everyone goes home safe

As well as all of the above, we’ll focus on slab/vertical ground and footwork. We’ll teach you how to use your balance and how to place your feet to achieve the most efficient way to move up on the rock (leading comfortably F5 or more). You’ll develop skills to help you handle steep rocks, save energy and climb more confidently and efficiently (leading comfortably F6c or more), with some work on overhangs too.

So come on girls, sign up for our camp in Spain and lets show those boys how we do it.

More Information

More about this trip

Whatever your reasons, our girls camps take place in the best sport climbing areas in Spain such as Sella, Teverga, Albarracin, Siurana, Margalef and Rodellar. There are unique opportunities for you to come and climb with girls who go hard and, more importantly, love every minute they spend on the rock.

Just pick the destination you prefer, book your flight, grab your harness and climbing shoes and come join us in sunny Spain. We guarantee new climbing experiences, progress and definitely loads of fun on and off the rock. We always try and create a warm and friendly atmosphere in all our camps but we find our girl only camps are always a little bit extra special.

Everyone is more then welcome, no matter which grades you climb. What matters to us is you being motivated to learn and progress. As a general rule (although not always) women usually have less strength than the guys but in our camp we’ll show you that’s not the be all and end all when it comes to your performance on the rock. See how the strength can be often replaced by precise technique and good mind control.

Specific climbing techniques, building up more confidence, getting faster and more explosive are among the things we will focus on with the goal of improving your climbing performance and overall feeling on the rock.
