Limited - Bruixes starts around 4c+

Beginners

Terradets is not a beginner-friendly destination on either side: Bruixes' documented routes concentrate in the 7c+-8a range, and the multi-pitch/aid routes at Bagasses and Roca Regina demand real multi-pitch experience.

The multi-pitch/trad side at Bagasses and Roca Regina (French 4b+ to 7b+) is the more accessible route in for a strong intermediate party with multi-pitch competence.

61 routes per theCrag, with notable long lines including Reina-Puig (530m, 15 pitches, 5+ A0) and CADE (580m, 6b+, trad). theCrag lists these as distinct named areas (23, 66, 11 and 2 routes respectively) but gives little character detail beyond counts. Tarzoom's two routes (UIAA 5+ A3 to 6b+ A1+, 100-110m) were first climbed in 1993 per theCrag - single-sourced.

Some of the gorge's longest routes exceed 500m and mix aid with free climbing (theCrag, UKClimbing) - treat these as committing multi-pitch days, not sport outings. Some routes are becoming polished from heavy traffic (UKClimbing, thetopo.com).

What's Terradets known for?

Two very different things: hard sport climbing at Paret de les Bruixes (French 4c+ to 9a+ per theCrag, concentrated in the 7c+ to 8a range), and long multi-pitch trad/aid routes at Paret de les Bagasses and Roca Regina, some over 500m.

How many routes are there?

Sources disagree sharply: theCrag counts 345 total, UKClimbing estimates roughly 200, thetopo.com documents 176, and Mountain Project's much smaller database logs only 27. theCrag's more detailed sector-by-sector data is used as the primary figure here.

Is there bouldering at Terradets?

No - none of our seven approved sources document bouldering here. The area is sport and multi-pitch/trad/aid climbing only.

Do I need a car?

Yes. None of our approved sources name a specific airport for Terradets, and the area is reached via the C-13 road (Mountain Project: roughly 71km north of Lleida). A train station exists near Cellers but no source gives service details, so treat rail access as unconfirmed for trip planning.

Is there a seasonal access restriction?

thetopo.com states the Els Isards sector is closed 1 January to 31 July for bird nesting. This isn't corroborated by our other sources, so confirm current signage locally.
