Novice course
Beginner climbers get ready to embrace the face. Rockbusters’ novice courses are a great way to catch the climbing bug. Whether you’re a complete rookie or just looking to make the step from indoor to outdoor climbing, this course will tick all your boxes. Tackle the basics head on, master technique and learn to climb safely. Get your head around all the gear and equipment you’ll need to stay safe and crank your way up the face. At Rockbusters it’s not just about technique, but immersing yourself in the complete climbing experience, with guides who live and breath to climb. Frankenjura
The Venue
Frankenjura is a rural limestone region in northern Bavaria, roughly between Nuremberg, Bamberg and Bayreuth, made up of hundreds of small, forested crags and free-standing towers rather than one continuous cliff. theCrag's live database currently lists over 17,000 routes region-wide; other sources give lower figures because they are point-in-time guidebook or article snapshots rather than a running database (see the Grades and Sectors section for the full comparison).
The climbing has a distinct identity: short, steep, pocketed limestone walls, powerful and technical movement, and a history that helped define modern sport climbing. A typical day is a circuit - drive to a crag, climb, shift to a different aspect if the sun or shade calls for it, and finish in a village pub before the kitchen closes.

Accommodation
There is a basic shared accommodation organized by Rockbusters to make sure everyone has a place to crash. Our main goal is to integrate you into the local climbing communities and for these purposes, we use local climbing hostels, cottages, campsites, or places run by local climbers.
For accommodation of higher standards please make a personal inquiry through email/WhatsApp
Upon arrival, before you get to the place of your final destination you will need to stop in the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. Usually, there is equipped kitchen with a refrigerator in the place and close by shops to replenish supplies.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars to have dinner. Communal dinners can be organized if required.

We provide most of the gear, but you will need to bring your own climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own you use to. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, a headlamp, a sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag.
We welcome beginner or intermediate climbers with issues leading. There is no previous experience required although we recommend you to hit local climbing gym few time before coming.
On the end for this week you will be confident to go and hit some cool single pitch sport climbs on your own.
This is a climbing trip and our number one goal is to maximize your time spent on the rock.

At the end of the course, our aim is to have transformed you into a competent independent climber tackling routes you would not have believed yourself capable of. You’ll be moving like a mountain goat, be more honed, and have a firm grasp of belay for top rope and leading. Plus you’ll know all the relevant communication and climbing terminology.
This course is a great way into climbing culture. It’s intense for sure, but this means you’ll develop your skills quickly and progress way faster than you thought possible.
