The longest walls
the hardest pitches

Edu's father took him climbing at eleven. Two years later he was competing, and the results came fast: European Junior Champion in 2002, Junior World Champion in 2003 and 2004, and in 2006 the first climber to win the Spanish lead and bouldering titles in the same year. He competed on the World Cup circuit until 2012, then decided single pitches were too short.

Since then he has gone looking for the longest, hardest walls he can find: Pan Aroma in the Dolomites, Wogü in the Rätikon, Orbayu on Picu Urriellu, Mora Mora in Madagascar. He bolted and freed Valhalla (9a+, 380 m) through the roof of the Getu Arch in China. In July 2022 he made the second free ascent of Eternal Flame on Nameless Tower in Pakistan, after 28 days on the wall, with his brother Álex and his father Novato, who stood on the summit at seventy.
