Every year we’re driving across the continent, stopping at the most iconic sport-climbing crags. You can focus on climbing as much as possible while experiencing the freedom of the ultimate climbing road trip.
Zillertal in Austria offers amazing climbing located in a beautiful Alpine valley full of fast-flowing streams, lots of lush greenery, and flowers. There are granite blocks of all shapes and sizes scattered all around the valley, making Zillertal a great bouldering destination. Bigger rocks offer excellent, well-bolted sport routes. It is a true granite paradise with technical slabs, cracks, and even some overhangs. There are eighteen bouldering areas in Zillertal, around fifteen sport climbing crags with single-pitch routes between 10 and 30 meters in length. Some of them are long, clean cracks of great quality. Apart from sport climbing and bouldering, Zillertal offers excellent multi-pitch options.
This trip is an ideal choice for climbers looking to refresh their sport climbing safety skills, master the leading technique and improve their overall rock climbing performance.
For the Rockbusters team climbing is not just a sport, it’s what we eat, drink, breathe and sleep - it’s what we live for. Our Sport Climbing Courses and Climbing Road Trips give you the opportunity to get a taste of what we mean and become part of our climbing crew.
The main focus of our Sport Climbing Courses and Road Trips is to provide great quality climbing, so it’s aimed at climbers with some experience. We are not pushing fit and motivated beginners away though. Rockbusters guides and coaches will provide all necessary coaching and go through all safety and technical details so everyone is able to do as much climbing as possible and enjoy climbing with each other. We make sure to push you enough so you achieve more during your stay, arming you with all the necessary techniques and safety measures before you try anything new.
During the time you will spend with us we will turn you into a confident leader of any sport climbing routes and make you a better climber overall no matter your current grade or level. Our professional guides and coaches will show you all the sport climbing tricks you may use to stay safe and to be happy trying routes beyond your comfort zone.
As well as building confidence, strength and taking on some tough climbs, this is a Rockbusters course, so you can also expect a hefty dose of fun! We love what we do and that really comes across in all of our trips and programs. And… we like to party almost as much as we like to climb, so get ready to have a blast on and off the rock. The informal, fun atmosphere of our courses is famous, but we never let this distract us from your climbing progression.
Minimum of 3 participants. In other cases, we will offer different trips/courses in the same or higher value or issue a full refund.

We provide all the gear, but you will need to bring your own reasonably tight climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, a headlamp, a sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag.
Upon arrival, we will take you to the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. Refrigerators are provided by the campsite, and we will return to the store once more during the week to replenish supplies.
Communal Spanish-inspired dinners prepared by a professional chef are offered every night for €15. They include an entree, salad, dessert, and wine. Dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated with advanced notice.
We may also decide to plan a night out at a restaurant in one of the many nearby towns.
There is a basic shared accommodation organized by Rockbusters. Our main goal is to integrate you into the local climbing communities and for these purposes, we use local climbing hostels, cottages, campsites, or places run by local climbers. Feel free to reach out to adjust these settings to your personal satisfaction.
In Labske Udoli, Frankenjura, Finale Ligure, Zillertal, Margalef, and Rodellar we stay in hostels or campsites bungalows with bunk beds. In Gorges du Tarn we use permanent caravans which belong to the campsite and in Ceuse we stay in campsites with hot showers, wi-fi, restaurant, ..., we provide tents so you will need to bring a sleeping bag and foam pad.
