Forget chocolate eggs and family dinners—this Easter, give yourself the gift of limestone. While others follow tradition, you could be following crimps and jugs on the sun-kissed walls of Croatia’s Istrian peninsula, with professional climber Klemen Becan showing you the way.
There’s something magical about Istria in spring. As nature awakens with temperatures hovering between 16-22°C, you’ll find yourself in the sweet spot for climbing—warm enough to shed winter layers but cool enough for optimal friction. The Mediterranean spring brings blooming landscapes that transform your climbing backdrop into a canvas of colors. This is the climber’s spring awakening you’ve been dreaming of during those dark winter months.
How often do you get the chance to climb alongside and learn from one of Europe’s most accomplished climbers? Klemen Becan brings his wealth of experience and technical expertise to this retreat, offering insights that could transform your climbing. Whether it’s subtle body positioning adjustments or mental approaches to cruxes, the opportunity to receive direct coaching from a climber of this caliber is rare and invaluable.
Istria isn’t just one climbing area—it’s an entire peninsula of possibilities. From the coastal crags of Rovinj with their stunning Adriatic views to the impressive limestone fjord of Limski Kanal, from the hidden canyon of Vela Draga to the technical challenges of Buzet—each day brings new rock, new challenges, and new opportunities to apply what you’ve learned. This diversity accelerates your learning curve and keeps motivation sky-high throughout the week.
After months of plastic pulling in the gym, your body craves real rock. This Easter retreat serves as the perfect transition from indoor training to outdoor performance. The timing couldn’t be better—early enough in the year to set the tone for your entire climbing season, yet late enough to enjoy comfortable conditions. Many climbers report that skills acquired during this critical transition period yield benefits throughout the entire year.
While the focus remains firmly on maximizing your time on the rock, Istria offers rich cultural experiences during rest days. Medieval hilltop towns, award-winning olive oils and truffles, local wine tastings, and traditional Easter celebrations in nearby villages all add depth to your climbing holiday. These experiences often become the unexpected highlights that transform a good climbing trip into an unforgettable one.
The question isn’t whether you should join the Rockbusters Easter climbing course in Istria—it’s whether you can afford to miss this opportunity to elevate your climbing in one of Europe’s most beautiful spring destinations, under the guidance of Klemen Becan.
