Multipitch climbing course

Master the Vertical: The Multi-Pitch Mission.

Stop looking at the big walls from the ground and start climbing them. Our Multi-Pitch Mission is a 5-day technical immersion designed to take you from a single-pitch sport climber to a self-sufficient, confident big-wall adventurer.

With an elite 2:1 coaching ratio, we strip away the mystery of rope management and anchor building, replacing it with the rock-solid skills you need to tackle Europe’s most iconic long routes. This isn't just a course; it's your transition to the big leagues.

Reach New Heights: Rockbusters Multi-Pitch Mission

Conquer the Vertical Together! Rockbusters’ Multipitch Mastery Course isn’t just training—it’s your gateway to a whole new dimension of climbing. Over five adrenaline-packed days, you’ll transform from crag climber to multipitch master under the guidance of elite coaches who live and breathe vertical adventure. Whether you’re scaling limestone faces or conquering granite towers, you’ll develop the technical skills, mental fortitude, and tactical expertise to tackle impressive multi-pitch routes with confidence and style.

Better Together, Better Value! Here’s the best part—our course price remains the same whether you come solo or bring your climbing partner! We strongly encourage you to team up with a friend or partner of similar ability, as paired learning dramatically enhances your experience. Not only will you climb significantly more (the absolute best way to improve), but you’ll also develop crucial communication and trust with someone you’ll likely rope up with after the course. More climbing, more practice, more value—all for the same investment!

Maximum Climbing, Maximum Progress. At Rockbusters, we believe in learning by doing—lots of doing. That’s why we minimize classroom time and maximize your time on real rock. You’ll apply new techniques immediately on authentic multipitch routes, consolidating skills through repetition in varying scenarios. With our 2:1 client-to-coach ratio, you’ll receive personalized attention while enjoying nearly twice the climbing time compared to larger group courses. The result? Accelerated learning and rapid confidence building that transform your climbing capabilities in just one week.

Multi-Pitch Mission Highlights

  • Total Vertical Immersion: 6 days of intensive, real-world climbing on Europe’s most iconic multi-pitch walls.
  • Elite 2:1 Ratio: Maximum 2 climbers per pro coach. No crowds, no waiting—just personalized instruction tailored to your pace.
  • Zero Classroom Time: We teach 100% on the rock. You learn technical systems in the environment where they actually matter.
  • Safety First, Always: Master the "Dark Arts" of climbing—self-rescue, retreating, and advanced anchor building.
  • Independence-Driven: Our goal is to make us obsolete. You leave with the skills to lead your own big-wall adventures.

Who This Mission Is For

This course is designed for ambitious sport climbers ready to step off the single-pitch crags and into the big mountains.

  • The Grade: You should be a confident lead climber with a minimum redpoint grade of 6b/6c.
  • The Experience: You already know how to lead and belay safely on sport routes, but feel "stuck" or intimidated by the complexity of multi-pitch systems.
  • The Goal: You want to master rope management, gear placement, and mental toughness to tackle long, classic routes independently.
  • The Partners: Perfect for climbing duos who want to become a self-sufficient "big wall team," though individual "mission seekers" are always welcome.

Multi-Pitch Mission: Technical Curriculum

Our mission is to bridge the gap between sport climbing and vertical autonomy. We break the training down into four critical pillars:

1. Advanced Ropework & Station Management

This is the "engine room" of multi-pitch climbing. We focus on efficiency and safety at every transition.

  • Anchor Systems (Belay Stands): Building redundant, equalized, and bomb-proof anchors using bolts, chains, and slings.
  • Rope Management: Techniques to avoid "spaghetti" on small ledges and managing twin/half ropes.
  • Hanging Belays: Comfort and safety protocols when there is no ledge to stand on.
  • Belaying from Above: Mastering the use of guide-mode devices (ATC-Guide, Petzl Reverso) and the Grigri for a second climber.

2. Vertical Logistics & Strategy

Climbing high requires better planning than a day at the local crag.

  • Trip Planning: How to read and interpret complex multi-pitch topos and guidebooks.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluating weather, rock quality, and team energy levels mid-route.
  • Communication: Standardized verbal and non-verbal signals for high-wind or long-distance pitches.
  • Equipment Education: Optimizing your rack—knowing exactly what to carry and what to leave behind.

3. Performance & Movement

We don't just want you to get up; we want you to climb with style and efficiency.

  • Efficient Movement: Techniques for saving energy on long, sustained routes.
  • Fear Management: Tactical approaches to dealing with "air under your feet" and the mental pressure of exposure.
  • Leading Strategy: Choosing when to push, when to rest, and how to manage "run-outs" safely.

4. Descent & Emergency Protocols

The mission isn't over until you are back on the ground.

  • Multi-Stage Abseiling: Setting up and executing multiple retreats safely.
  • Self-Rescue Essentials: Basic "get-out-of-jail" skills, including ascending a rope and escaping the belay.
  • Retreating & Bailing: How to safely abandon a route and leave gear behind if necessary.
