If you’re familiar with British gritstone then Czech sandstone will be surprisingly similar. If you’ve got no idea what we’re talking about then all you need to know is that the Czech sandstone of the Elbe Mountains is one of the best rock types for climbing.
This is your chance to experience some of the most unique and exciting Czech climbing, accompanied by some of the finest guides you could ever wish to meet (even if we do say so ourselves). It’s perfect for climbers who’ve got a fair bit of experience under their belt looking for new challanges and bit more exotic climbing styles, but open to anyone who can belay safely and tie on without assistance.
Throughout your stay you’ll be guided by a local climber and route developer who’ll use their local knowledge to take you deep into the Elbe sandstone. These ancient rocks straddle the border between German Saxony and Czech Bohemia and are, not surprisingly, a national park. The River Elbe has carved a narrow gorge through the soft sandstone, creating some stunning cracks and crevices that will get serious climbers pretty aroused.

We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, head lamp, sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag.
Upon arrival we will take you to the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. There is refrigerator in the house, and there are shops in Decin to replenish supplies.
There are plenty restaurants and bars in Cornudella de Montsant to have dinner. Communal dinners can be organized if required.
