Girls on Rock! Want to climb without all the machismo? You’re not the only one. We’ve created this girls only climbing trip coached by the female members of the Rockbusters crew. This 2 week ladies-only climbing holiday runs from 18th June 2016 in the sport climbing mecca of Rodellar, Spain. The days may be testosterone-free but we’ll help you to push your personal limits.
Here at Rockbusters we always try to be a bit different in the best possible way. The climbing culture can still sometimes be a little bit macho, and there are often fewer opportunities to climb with women than with men. Our “Girls on Rock” climbing trip is designed to give you the opportunity to learn the basics and push your limits in a supportive environment, coached by an experienced female climber.
Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate climber, this is a great chance to expand your skill set, meet new climbing buddies, and just chill in good company.
“Girls on Rock” will take place in the very best of Spain’s sport climbing destinations, Rodellar, with an unlimited supply of beautiful climbing set against a breathtaking landscape.
All girls and women are welcome, no matter what grade you climb. Our dedicated coach Linda will make sure that you push yourself, while enjoying every step of the journey.
Women usually (although not always!) have less strength than the guys. During the trip we aim to show you that, when it comes to performing on the rock, raw power is far from everything. With precise technique and a good head game, you can outclimb much stronger climbers, but we will also give you some tips on how to increase upper-body strength.
Basic and advanced climbing techniques, building up confidence, and getting faster and more explosive are awesome of the many things that we will focus on. The goal is to improve your climbing performance, and enhance your overall experience on the rock.
On our “Girls on Rock” trip you will learn:
how to belay safely, set up a top-rope, and lead climb. We’ll also cover other technical aspects to build up your knowledge
how to use a guide book and local knowledge to get to know a climbing area in order to choose routes that best suit your style
how to use climbing calls and communicate efficiently so you won’t sound like a rookie
basic and advanced movement skills for improved efficiency and better climbing
