My journey with rock climbing began in 2002 at the age of 14. Like many of you, I’ve spent the last two decades balancing a deep passion for the rock with a demanding professional life. I am a proud "weekend warrior," navigating the complexities of high-level climbing while living in the flatlands of the Netherlands.
My relationship with climbing hasn't always been easy. I’ve faced the hurdles of long-distance travel, recovery from injuries, and the mental weight of fear. However, these challenges led me to find my own path. For the last 12 years, I haven't taken a single break—instead, I’ve focused on overcoming my fears, mastering multi-pitch instruction, and building a sustainable, healthy relationship with the sport.
In my daily life, I am an Anaesthesiology Resident. My medical training provides me with unique, science-based insights into the physiological and psychological demands of climbing. Whether you are struggling with movement mechanics or the mental "freeze" of fear, I combine twenty years of coaching experience with medical expertise to help fellow weekend warriors reach their full potential.
