Who wants to get really high? No, not like that you naughty people. We’re talking about taking the huge step from single pitch fixed anchor climbing to multi-pitch and trad climbing (traditional climbing is placing your own protection and fixing your own anchors). If you don’t try, you’ll never know how high or far you can go. If you’ve mastered the climbing basics and are keen to really push yourself then let the Rockbusters crew get you high.
The trad and multipitch course are a test of nerves as you start putting some real distance between yourself and the ground. You’ll focus on multipitch rope skills and techniques that will keep you safe at pant-filling heights. You’ll get a good grounding (if you’ll pardon the pun) in all the equipment and how to choose the right gear for the climb. You’ll also learn how to look after your gear properly, increasing it’s life and possibly saving yours.
Specific skills you’ll learn include:
Building safe belays to get a better understanding of rope technique
Abseils and retreats for getting yourself back down to terra firma
Climbing calls and communication so you can get your message across to other climbers
Self-rescue skills - worth knowing if you want to make it home safely
Learn how to use a climbing guide book so you can climb in new areas and safely plan your routes
You’ll develop a good understanding of climbing risks and when to retreat or not climb at all
Adding trad and multipitch climbing to your arsenal of skills will give you the confidence to climb higher and more technical routes than ever before. All of this learning takes place in a fun and friendly environment with all the playful Rockbusters crew and lively hospitality thrown in for good measure. We work hard and play hard, and so will you.

We provide all the gear, but you will need to bring your own reasonably tight climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, head lamp, sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag.
Upon arrival we will take you to the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. There is refrigerator in the hostel, and there are shops in Cornudella de Montsant to replenish supplies.
There are plenty restaurants and bars in Cornudella de Montsant to have dinner. Communal dinners can be organized if required.
