For the Rockbusters team climbing is not just a sport, it’s what we eat, drink, breathe and sleep - it’s what we live for. Our Sport Climbing Camp gives you the opportunity to get a taste of what we mean and become part of our climbing crew.
Come and join us for a week or two in one of the best European crags. You’ll get to spend all day on the face, taking on as many climbs as your fingers can handle. Then, it’s all back to camp to kick back and relax as hard as you want to - living the climbing life we love.
During the Sport Climbing Camp we’ll provide one-on-one coaching, video and photo analysis to help improve your performance. This is really useful for climbers who already have some outdoor experience and who want to hone their technique and to get deeper into the climbing culture.
During your stay you’ll get:
On-going performance coaching so that you’re always building on your technique
Time on slab and vertical ground to improve footwork for better climbing
Work on balance so that you climb in a more efficient way (leading F5 or more)
Overhang work to build strength and confidence so you can take on tougher climbing challenges
Tuition for difficult routes of F6 or more for more experienced climbers looking to move up the grades
Red point and on-sight attempts so you can tackle new climbs more easily
The focus of our Sport Climbing Camp is on quality climbing, so it’s aimed at climbers with some experience. Beginners might be more suited to our Novice course, which is equally intense but in a different way. We will push you to achieve more during your stay,arming you with all the necessary techniques and safety measures before you try anything new.
You’ll be shown how to use a guidebook so you can read the topo and figure out new climbing areas for yourself. We’ll develop your calls and communication so you can stay in touch with other climbers on the face, and communicate with those at the base. You’ll learn about cleaning anchors and safe belaying for top rope and leading. Basically, everything we know we’ll try and pass on to you. And that’s a heck of a lot.
Our Sport Climbing Camp gives you a little glimpse of what it’s like to lead the climbing life. This is who we are and what we do, and we’d love the chance to show just why we do it every day.
As much coaching and guiding as you want and need, from our all female team.
All safety equipment including quick draws, ropes, harness , helmet - but feel free to bring your own.
Pick up and drop off at closest airport. Other locations can be accommodated on request (FREE CHARGE).
Transport between crags(FREE CHARGE).
Shared accommodation in climbing hostals, camps (FREE CHARGE).
Flights, travel and climbing insurance and all other food are not included. You will also need to BRING YOUR OWN CLIMBING SHOES
Evening group meals are provided on request at a cost of 15€ each. There will normally be 2 dishes on offer and you can go for both. We also include wine .. in reasonable quantities !
Siutable for people with some CLIMBING EXPRIENCE (belay, lead belay, top rope, lead, ...). From sporty beginners through to experts leading at F8, our experienced team will plan the days so that everyone climbs as much they can and gets all the coaching they need.
Day 1 - Pick up from airport at times to suit the group as a whole. Welcome dinner on the first night and a relaxed discussion about the week ahead, people's abilities and ambitions for the week.
Day 2 - Introduction to climbing. Getting a taste for the rock and some warm-up routes. Reviewing safe belay, top-roping and a refresher on leading for those with goals.
Day 3 - More climbing, top-roping on some trickier routes for the beginners. Gaining confidence and improving lead climbing technique for intermediates and advanced.
Day 4 - First lead climbs for the beginner group on easy terrain. Advanced belaying and controlling falls dynamically.
Day 5 - Time to add some technical coaching. Finding and working a red-point project for the advanced.
Day 6 - Discussion and practice on red-pointing, flash, and onsight methods. Making sure everyone is having fun and progressing their technique on the rock.
Day 7 - Consolidate our weeks work. Finish those projects we started and lock in the skills we learned. It's time for the farewell dinner and party for those with some energy.
Day 8 - Everyone gets back to the bus station or airport safe and sound and we say goodbye - until next time.
Note: Everyone needs a rest day but we don't fix these into the itinerary. Listen to your body and take break when you need it.
