Develop your multi pitch and trad climbing skills with our friend and UIAGM guide Marica Fave in stunning enviroment of Dolomities. Refresh the basics and push yourself hard and high.

Place yourself 600m above the ground with stunning view of the big mountains trying to sort out what peace of gear you need to use in this small crag, your arms totally pumped having your legs dancing Elvis Presly rock’n’roll rhythm. Scary, frustrating, mentaly exhausting, super challenging, … and 100% freaky awesome. This is traditional multiptich climbing in its purest form.

 

This multipitch trad climbing course is your ticket to new climbing adventures, breathtaking places around the world and special feelings coming from your achievements. The ability to climb multipitch trad opens new horizons and will allow you to explore some of the worlds’ best and most iconic climbing routes. If you wanna take your climbing to another level, learn what trad gear you need and how to place it, build safe anchors, abseil (rapel) down, … 

 

This is the next step to our Trad climibng course and Multipitch climbing course. Of course you more than welcome to join just make sure you fulfill the necessary technical, physical and mental requirements.

Specific skills you’ll learn include:

 

  • What equipment you need and how to choose it so you have the best climbing experience while staying safe
  • Building safe belays to get a better understanding of rope technique
  • Stance management; how to handle the rope, hanging belays, ...
  • Abseils and retreats for getting yourself back down to terra firma
  • Climbing calls and communication so you can get your message across to other climbers
  • Self-rescue skills - worth knowing if you want to make it home safely
  • Reading and understanding of guide books and topos, routes finding, …
  • How to choose proper strategy (place a piece or to climb further) to be fast, efficient and safe
  • You’ll develop a good understanding of climbing risks and when to retreat or not climb at all

 

Adding traditional climbing to your arsenal of skills will give you the confidence to climb higher and more technical routes than ever before. All of this learning takes place in a fun and friendly environment with all the playful Rockbusters crew and lively hospitality thrown in for good measure. We work hard and play hard, and so will you.

What you need to know

  1. You need to be solid in all sport climbing technical skills as lead belay, cleaning anchors and leading F6b
  2. Be ready to hike, carry equipment around, spending whole day on the wall, ... Comfort won't be a thing here.
  3. After this week you will be able to hit confidently multi-pitch and trad routes on your own.
  4. Worries free climbing vacation. Book your flights and leave rest to us. We sort out all logistics for you.

Typical day

Breakfast, coffee, do some stretching or yoga, ...

7 - 8 am

All aboard! We pack into the cars and head off to the crag.

Starting climbing depending what was agreed night before (big multipitch or few practice routes).

9 am - 1 pm
1 pm

Lunchtime! Pull out your packed lunch and relax on Spanish sun with great views. This is also a good time to snap some photos.

Finishing the climb or starting to do small multipitch route.

1.30 - 6 pm
6 - 7 pm

Grab a beer/vine, day evaluation and planing for tomorrow.

Pour yourself some Italian wine/beer and get something to eat. Who knows where the night will lead…

8 pm
10 pm

There are no rules but most of us will be in bad this time!

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

We provide all the gear, but you will need to bring your own reasonably tight climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, head lamp, sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag.
