Czech sandstone climbing represents one of the purest forms of traditional climbing, where metal protection is forbidden, and climbers rely on knotted slings, textile rings, and occasional fixed rings for protection. With routes dating back to the early 1900s, you’ll be participating in a climbing tradition with deep historical roots.

Day 1: Introduction
Introduction to Czech sandstone ethics and history. Equipment check and basic techniques practice on smaller formations.
Day 2-5: Progressive Climbing
Daily excursions to different climbing areas with increasing difficulty. Morning technique workshops followed by guided climbs on selected routes.
Day 6: Challenge Day
Attempt a classic multi-pitch route on one of the iconic towers. Farewell dinner.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of outdoor climbing experience
Technical Ability: Confident leading trad routes at UIAA VI (5.10a)
Fitness Level: Good overall fitness for approaches and full days of climbing
Equipment: Standard trad rack plus specialized equipment (rental available)

reasonably tight climbing shoes / harness / helmet / belay device / 2 screw gate carabiners / 60cm sling
We provide most of the gear, but you will need to bring your own climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own that you use to. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, a headlamp, a sleeping bag, and a backpack large enough to carry lunch and gear to the crag.
Upon arrival, before you get to the place of your final destination, you will need to stop in the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. There is an equipped kitchen with a refrigerator in place, and nearby shops to replenish supplies.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from for dinner. Communal dinners can be organized if required.
