Get your first steps on real rock. All necessary skills and knowledge to be able to do single pitch sport climbs confidently on your own. Master technique, learn to lead climb and lead belay safely and get your head around all the gear as you start your climbing journey. Perfect choice for beginners and as transition from indoor to outdoor.

Beginner climbers get ready to embrace the face. Rockbusters’ novice/learn to lead courses are a great way to catch the climbing bug. Whether you’re a complete rookie or just looking to make the step from indoor to outdoor climbing, this course will tick all your boxes.

Tackle the basics head on, master technique and learn to climb safely. Get your head around all the gear and equipment you’ll need to stay safe and crank your way up the face. At Rockbusters it’s not just about technique, but immersing yourself in the complete climbing experience, with guides who live and breath to climb. So not only will you have an awesome time learning but you’ll enjoy a fun party atmosphere in the camp.



Our top coaches will be with you every step of the way helping you to master the following:

  • What equipment you need and how to choose it so you have the best climbing experience while staying safe

  • Technical climbing skills like how to belay, set up top-rope and lead climb (depending on your level)

  • Climbing calls and communication so that you can get your message across to climbing buddies

  • Movement skills to help you climb more efficiently

  • Basic understanding of outdoor risks so you can make it home safely every day

  • Cleaning the anchors so you can retrieve all your gear

  • Intro to leading sport climbs


At the end of the course, our aim is to have transformed you into a competent independent climber tackling routes you would not have believed yourself capable of. You’ll be moving like a mountain goat, be more honed, and have a firm grasp of belay for top rope and leading. Plus you’ll know all the relevant communication and climbing terminology.

This course is a great way into climbing culture. It’s intense for sure, but this means you’ll develop your skills quickly and progress way faster than you thought possible. What you need to know

  1. We welcome beginner or intermediate climbers with issues to lead. There is no previous experience required although we recommend you to hit local climbing gym few time before coming.
  2. On the end for this week you will be confident to go and hit some cool single pitch sport climbs on your own.
  3. This is a climbing trip and our number one goal is to maximize your time spent on the rock.
  4. Worries free climbing vacation. Book your flights and leave rest to us. We sort out all logistics for you.

Typical day

Wake up, have a relaxing breakfast, coffee in local bakery. We will meet up at 10am to discuss the plan for the day so make sure you are ready to go!

8 – 10 am
10.30 am

All aboard! We pack into the van and head off to the crag.

Jump on some warm up climbs and start getting your body moving. Look up for some challenges for the day and figure out the beta. Of course there is always time for some cool coaching.

11am - 2pm

Lunchtime! Pull out your packed lunch and relax on Spanish sun with great Siurana/Margalef views. This is also a good time to snap some photos.

Back to climbing. Using what you learned in the morning, and our individualized coaching, start nailing the projects down.

2.30 - 7 pm
7 - 8 pm

Time to relax with a well-earned beer from one of the local climbing bars. We will re-group, discuss the highlights from the day and what the focus will be tomorrow.

Pour yourself some Spanish wine/beer and get something to eat. Who knows where the night will lead… Mañana más y mejor.

8 pm
11 pm

There are no rules but most of us will be in bad this time!

We provide all the gear, but you will need to bring your own reasonably tight climbing shoes and harness. We have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own. We strongly suggest bringing a down jacket, a hat, a rain jacket, a pair of comfortable approach shoes, head lamp, sleeping bag, and a backpack big enough for carrying lunch and gear to the crag. 


There is equiped kitchen in the hostel and many supermarkets around to replenish supplies.
