Beginner climbers get ready to embrace the face. Rockbusters’ novice courses are a great way to catch the climbing bug. Whether you’re a complete rookie or just looking to make the step from indoor to outdoor climbing, this course will tick all your boxes.
Tackle the basics head on, master technique and learn to climb safely. Get your head around all the gear and equipment you’ll need to stay safe and crank your way up the face. At Rockbusters it’s not just about technique, but immersing yourself in the complete climbing experience, with guides who live and breath to climb. So not only will you have an awesome time learning but you’ll enjoy a fun party atmosphere in the camp.
Our top coaches will be with you every step of the way helping you to master the following:
What equipment you need and how to choose it so you have the best climbing experience while staying safe
Technical climbing skills like how to belay, set up top-rope and lead climb (depending on your level)
Climbing calls and communication so that you can get your message across to climbing buddies
Movement skills to help you climb more efficiently
Basic understanding of outdoor risks so you can make it home safely every day
Cleaning the anchors so you can retrieve all your gear
At the end of the course, our aim is to have transformed you into a competent independent climber tackling routes you would not have believed yourself capable of. You’ll be moving like a mountain goat, be more honed, and have a firm grasp of belay for top rope and leading. Plus you’ll know all the relevant communication and climbing terminology.
This course is a great way into climbing culture. It’s intense for sure, but this means you’ll develop your skills quickly and progress way faster than you thought possible. Guiding and coahing.
All safety equipment including quick draws, ropes, harness , helmet - but feel free to bring your own.

Flights, travel, climbing insurance and food are not included. You will also need to BRING YOUR OWN CLIMBING SHOES
Evening group meals are provided on request at a cost of 15€ each. There will normally be 2 dishes on offer and you can go for both. We also include wine .. in reasonable quantities !
Siutable for total NOVICES, transitioning from GYM to ROCK. For total beginner to people looking for first rock experience, our experienced team will plan the days so that everyone climbs as much they can and gets all the coaching they need.
Day 1 - Pick up from closest airport at times to suit the group as a whole. Common dinner on the first night and a relaxed discussion about the week ahead, people's abilities and ambitions for the week.
Day 2 - Introduction to climbing. Getting a taste for the rock and some warm-up routes. Reviewing safe belay, top-roping and leading belay technique.
Day 3 - More climbing, top-roping on some trickier routes for the beginners. Advanced belaying and controlling falls dynamically.
Day 4 - First lead climbs on easy terrain. Cleaning anchors safely.
Day 5 - Time to add some technical coaching. Rapeling techniques.
Day 6 - Discussion and practice on red-pointing, flash, and onsite methods. Making sure everyone is having fun and progressing their technique on the rock.
Day 7 - Consolidate our weeks work. Finish those projects we started and lock in the skills we learned. It's time for the farewell dinner and party for those with some energy.
Day 8 - Everyone gets back to the bus station or airport safe and sound and we say goodbye - until next time.
Note: Everyone needs a rest day but we don't fix these into the itinerary. Listen to your body and take break when you need it.
